What is VONET?
VONET is a multi-industry knowledge sharing and professional networking platform made in India. VONET brings professionals from different industries together. A doctor can learn from a software engineer, a teacher can connect with a business owner. The idea is simple: knowledge has no boundaries, and professionals from all industries can learn from each other and grow together.
Is VONET free to use?
Yes, VONET is completely free to download and use. You get access to all features including posting, messaging, networking, and AI-powered features. You also get 10 free AI credits every month.
Is VONET a social networking app?
No, VONET is different. It is made for working professionals from all industries. Here, professionals share their research, insights, experiences, opinions, and industry trends. The goal is to help professionals from different industries connect and learn from each other.

For example, a farmer can learn about new technology from a software engineer, and together they can create solutions for agriculture. This is the power of having professionals from many industries on one app - VONET.
Is there a website for VONET?
Yes! Please visit https://vonet.in to learn more about VONET and its features.
Is there a web app for VONET?
No, currently we have only iOS and Android mobile apps. There is no web app.
Is this app made in India?
Yes, 100%! We are based in India, developed this app in India, and it is primarily made for Indian users.

Account & Login

How can I create a new account?
On the Login screen, enter your mobile number. The app will check if an account already exists with this mobile number. If no account exists, a new account will be created automatically for you.
Why do I need to agree to the Terms of Service?
Before using VONET, you must agree to our Terms of Service. This is to make sure all users understand and follow the rules of the platform. The Terms of Service explain what is allowed and not allowed on VONET, including rules about respectful behaviour and content.

You will see this agreement on the login screen. If you do not agree, the "Send OTP" button will remain disabled and you will not be able to use the app. This helps us keep VONET a safe and professional platform for everyone.
I did not receive OTP. What should I do?
OTP delivery can sometimes take a few minutes depending on network conditions. Please wait for 2-3 minutes and make sure you have good mobile network. If you still do not receive it, tap on "Resend OTP" button.
How can I delete my account?
You have two options:

1. From the App: Login to app → Go to Profile → About App → Tap on "Delete My Account"

2. Via Email: If you cannot access the app, send an email to contact@vonet.in with:
  • Your request to delete account
  • Mobile number linked to your account
  • Your first name and last name

Our team will verify your account ownership and process the deletion.

Privacy & Security

Why do you need my mobile number?
We use your mobile number for two reasons:
  • To uniquely identify you on the app and create your account
  • Currently, the app is available only to users with valid Indian mobile numbers to keep the app within India
How do you manage data privacy and security?
Our app follows the guidelines of DPDPA 2023 (Digital Personal Data Protection Act). We follow these rules when we store, delete, and manage any personal data.

AI Features & Credits

What are "AI Credits"?
Our app has many AI-powered features. Each AI feature uses "AI Credits" when you use it. The app gives you 10 free AI credits every month that you can use at no cost.
Can I purchase or buy more AI Credits?
No, currently only free monthly credits are available. You cannot buy additional credits.
What AI-powered features use AI Credits?
These features use AI Credits:
  • "Autofill Profile with AI" in Profile section
  • "Enhance with AI" in Post creation
  • "Translate" any post to your preferred language
  • And a few more similar AI features
What is "Enhance With AI" in Post screen?
When you write a post in your natural, casual way, "Enhance with AI" will make it professional without changing its meaning.

The idea is simple: Write what you want in your own style, and let AI make it look professional for other users to read and understand better.
What is "Autofill Profile with AI"?
Filling profile details like about-me, experience, education, and expertise can be tiring and time-consuming.

With this feature, you write about yourself, your work, education, and experience in your natural way. "Autofill Profile with AI" will make it professional and fill in each section of your profile automatically.

Write less, get a complete professional profile!

Home Screen

What is the post quality indicator (Good/Very Good/Excellent) on posts screen for each post?
Every post on VONET goes through an AI-powered quality check process.

Based on this, posts get a quality rating:
  • Excellent - Very relevant and very useful for professionals
  • Very Good - Good content with reasonable value
  • Good - May not be as relevant or useful
What are "For You" and "Others" tabs in Home screen?
"For You" - This is an AI-powered smart feed. It shows posts based on your industry preferences, interests, and other factors. Its goal is to show you posts that matter most to you.

"Others" - This tab shows posts that you might want to read later, separate from your personalised "For You" feed.
What is "AI Search" tab in Home screen?
"AI Search" is a smart search feature. You can type your search in natural language (like how you normally talk). The AI understands what you are looking for and gives you the most relevant results.
What is the Filter icon on top right in Home screen?
The Filter icon lets you choose which industries you want to see posts from. Tap on it, select the industries you are interested in, and you will only see posts from those industries on your Home screen. This gives you full control over what you want to read.
What is the "Search" screen?
The Search screen lets you find other users on the app. For example, if you type "Sachin", you will see all users with the name Sachin. Tap on any user to view their profile and send them a connect request.

Messaging & Networking

How can I send messages and chat with others?
To start messaging, you must first be connected with that user. Here is how:
  • Send a "Connect" request from the Home tab or from that user's Profile
  • Wait for the other user to accept your request
  • Once accepted, you both are connected
  • Now you can start messaging each other
What types of messaging are supported?
The app supports two types:
  • Direct: One-to-one chat between two users
  • Group: When you select more than two people while creating a new conversation, a group is created automatically

Safety & Moderation

How do I block a user?
Go to the profile of the user you want to block. You will see a "Block" option on their profile page. Tap on it, select a reason (like spam, harassment, hate speech, scam, or other), and you can also add additional comments if you want. The user will be blocked immediately.
What happens when I block someone?
When you block someone:
  • You will not see their posts, and they will not see yours
  • You cannot send messages to each other
  • If you were connected before, that connection is removed
  • The blocked user cannot find you in search
Blocking happens immediately - you do not need to wait for any review.
How do I unblock a user?
Go to your Profile → Settings → Blocked Users. You will see the list of users you have blocked. Tap on the user you want to unblock and confirm.
What happens when I unblock someone?
When you unblock someone:
  • You can see each other's posts again
  • You can send and receive messages
  • You can search and find each other
Note: If you were connected before blocking, that connection is not restored automatically. You will need to send a new connect request and wait for them to accept it.
How do I report a user?
Go to the profile of the user you want to report. You will see a "Report" option on their profile page. Tap on it, select a reason (spam, harassment, hate speech, scam, or other), and add any additional comments to help us understand the issue. Your report will be sent to the VONET team immediately.
What happens after I report a user?
When you report a user, the VONET admin team receives an immediate notification. Our team reviews the report carefully and takes appropriate action. We appreciate users who report bad behaviour - it helps keep VONET safe for everyone.
What is the difference between blocking and reporting a user?
Blocking: This is for your personal safety. When you block someone, they are immediately removed from your experience - no posts, no messages, no connection. This happens instantly without any review.

Reporting: This is to inform VONET about a user who is behaving badly. Our team reviews the report and takes action if needed. Reporting helps protect the entire community, not just you.

Tip: If someone is bothering you, you can both block AND report them.

Post Actions

What actions can I do with a post?
Below each post, you will see an action bar with these buttons:
  • Like - Show that you liked the post
  • Comment - Add a quick comment
  • Repost - Share the post on your profile
  • Report - Report bad or inappropriate content
  • Share - Share the post to other apps
  • Translate - Read the post in your language
How can I add a comment to a post?
VONET has ready-made comments for you. Below each post, tap on "Comment" button. You will see 20+ pre-written comments. Just pick the one that fits and tap on it. Done!
What should I do if I find inappropriate content or behaviour?
For inappropriate posts: Each post has a "Report" button with a flag icon. Tap on it and we will take action on that post right away.

For inappropriate users: Go to that user's profile and tap on "Report". Select a reason and add any comments to help us understand the issue.

We really appreciate when users report bad content or behaviour. It helps keep VONET safe and healthy for everyone.

Sharing

Can I share content from other apps to VONET?
Yes! When using other apps or browser, tap on "Share" button. You will see "VONET" in the list of apps. Select it and you will be taken to VONET's post screen with the content ready to share.
Can I share posts from VONET to other apps?
Yes! Each post has a "Share" button in the action bar. Tap on it, select the app you want to share to, and complete the sharing.

Language & Translation

Can I translate a post to my language?
Yes! We know reading in your own language is more comfortable. VONET supports 16+ Indian languages like Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, and more. Below each post, you will see your preferred language option in the action bar. Just tap on it and read the post in your language.
Can I use "Enhance with AI" to write posts in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, or other Indian languages?
Yes! "Enhance with AI" supports 16+ Indian languages. You can write in any of these languages, and the AI will make your text look professional in the same language. We understand the comfort and pride of writing in your mother tongue.

Beta & Feedback

I see that VONET is in Beta. What does that mean for me?
"Beta" means the app is still being improved. During this phase, you might sometimes face small issues like crashes or bugs. But do not worry - we are working hard to fix them.
